1. Heat with an electric soldering iron

If you heat the insulation layer with an electric soldering iron, there should be no obvious dent. If there is a large dent, it indicates that there is a defect in the material or process used for the insulation layer.

2. Lighter burning

When using a lighter to grill, under normal circumstances, it should be difficult to catch fire. After a long period of burning, the insulation layer of the cable remains relatively intact, without thick smoke or pungent smell, and at the same time, the diameter has increased. If it is very easy to ignite, it can be determined that the insulation layer of the cable does not use low smoke zero halogen materials. If there is a large amount of smoke, it indicates that the insulating layer is made of halogen-containing materials. If the insulation surface peaking is severe after long-term burning and the diameter does not increase significantly, it indicates that the appropriate irradiation crosslinking process treatment has not been carried out.

3. Density comparison

The density of low smoke zero halogen materials is greater than that of water. A small amount of the insulating layer can be peeled off and put into water. If it floats above the water surface, it is definitely not a low smoke zero halogen material.
