用于成缆的设备，也就是把绝缘线芯绞合在一起，并加以填充、绕包的设备，称为成缆机。成缆机有普通式和盘绞式两种。普通式成缆机有笼式和盘式两种，成缆速度一般在10m/min 以下。大型成缆机制成盘式，能进行三芯、四芯及五芯电缆的成缆。如1+3/1600 和1+3/2400、1+4/1600、1+4/2400 成缆机，Z大放线盘分别为1600mm 和2400mm。中、小型成缆机制成笼式，绞合部分如同绞线机的绞笼，有1+6/1000 和1+6/400 型等规格形式。盘绞式成缆机是较新的成缆设备，生产效率高，速度一般在30m/min 以上，适用范围大，能用于各种电力电缆的成缆，也可用于通信电缆和控制电缆以及大截面超高压电缆分裂导体的缆合。
