Six major factors affecting cable performance
Ultraviolet (UV) - Do not apply cables without UV protection in environments exposed to direct sunlight.
2. Heat - The temperature of cables in metal pipes or cable trays is very high. Many polymer materials will have their service life reduced at such temperatures.
3. Water - Moisture in twisted-pair cables within a local area network can increase the cable's capacitance, thereby reducing impedance and causing near-end crosstalk problems.
4. Mechanical damage (repair cost) - The repair of optical cables is extremely expensive, and at least two terminations are required at each disconnection point.
5. Grounding - If the shielding layer of the cable needs to be grounded, the corresponding standards must be followed.
6. Total routing length (not just between buildings) - When outdoor-grade local area network twisted-pair cables are used between buildings, the total length should be limited to within 90 meters. For 100Mps or 1000Mbps networks, the laying distance must not exceed this limit. If the laying distance is between 100 meters and 300 meters, optical cables should be chosen.
Is the cable placed at
Under the eaves. Standard LAN cables can be used as long as they are not directly exposed to sunlight or extremely high temperatures. It is recommended to use pipes.
2. On the exterior wall Avoid direct sunlight on the wall and human damage.
3. Inside pipes (plastic or metal). If in pipes, pay attention to the damage of plastic pipes and the heat conduction of metal pipes.
4. Suspended applications/Overhead cables. Consider the sagging and pressure of the cable. Which binding method is planned to be adopted and whether the cable is directly exposed to sunlight.
5. It is directly laid in underground cable trenches, and this environment has the smallest control range. The installation of cable trenches should be regularly inspected for their dryness or humidity.
6. Underground pipelines. To facilitate future upgrades, cable replacement, and isolation from surface pressure and the surrounding environment, laying pipelines for isolation is a better approach. But don't expect the pipes to remain dry forever, as this will affect the choice of cable types.
